CONTEXT AND BRIEF
The Escaletto Hotel is one of our most successful projects of 2022. Formerly the Hôtel du Globe in Aix-en-Provence, the hotel is owned by the Turenne Group, which owns nearly 50 hotels. Suffering from an ageing image, major works are planned for the summer of 2022.
Eliophot intervened to completely re-imagine the identity, notably through the new naming, the baseline and the new logo and graphic universe.
The challenge was met: our partner, enthusiastic about the proposals, decided to trust us and asked us for the website, as well as an SEO service and Google Ads campaigns.
NAMING AND ART DIRECTION
The first phase of this project is punctuated by naming. The concept: a large terrace, the only rooftop in the city of Aix-en-Provence, is the hotel's flagship product. It is therefore around this unique distinctive element that we are focusing our work.
We are exploring several hypotheses, based on different names from the Provençal language, such as "Cabanèla", the "plank hut", or "Soulàri" which means "solar".
Finally, "Escaletto", which means "to perch a bird on one's finger", was chosen. It reminds us of the south, of Provence, with a charming and cosy side, all elements that should evoke the concept and the experience of this hotel.
LOGO AND BRANDING
Once the naming was complete, we continued with the same theme for the logo and identity. The new name of the hotel evokes a small bird and is therefore present on the logo.
For the colour, yellow becomes the primary colour of the new hotel's charter. The identity is enhanced by a charcoal grey colour that evokes the hotel's premium level of service and interior design, all in keeping with the rest of the charter.
